Firstly, ChatGPT is not a harbinger of bad news for workers. As with the earlier technology advances (i.e., the automobile, the calculator, and even public clouds), work/activities have evolved and transformed and the workers usually upskilled or used transferable skills in another industry.

Yes, Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) will make routine, white collar work less labor intensive. The early results have shown businesses are integrating ChatGPT in their workflows and these business do and will require less personnel to write copy, develop plans, or even write code.

Looking beyond the buzz of ChatGPT, those workers whose work is in trades or is hands on or asynchronistic (i.e., plumbers, dentists, doctors, engineers) will feel little or no effect on employment opportunities due to A.I.
